Climate Action

There’s nothing more important than the health and future of our planet.

We work with the community on a number of practical projects to address climate change. These include projects like Birdscaping Canberra and ‘What do we want Canberra to look and feel like in 2030?’

ROVING REGENERATORS

A program to foster soil building in Canberra for a more resilient and resourced urban greening movement.

Healthy soils are critical to urban farming, self-sufficiency efforts and revegetation. Good soil is the basis for regenerative systems.

The SEE Change Roving Regenerators program hosts free workshops on a range of topics including soil regeneration, carbon capture, composting and worm farming for community groups, schools and teams. We have fantastic facilitators who are avid gardeners and growers, edcuating the community on how to build healthy soil.

Birdscaping CBR

Working with volunteers, SEE Change planted 2000 native trees, shrubs, ground covers, grasses and daisies on public space in O’Connor. This project will provide habitat for endangered small birds at risk from habitat loss and will help cool the landscape.

We can provide advice on how to make projects like this happen in your local area - contact us.

The project was funded through an Environment ACT Grant

Biodiversity Walks and Talks

SEE Change Gungahlin are passionate about local wildlife and plant life. They run biodiversity walks and talks focusing on a particular native species, and invite the public to take a stroll through nature, maybe spot the creature in question, and hear from an ecologist about the species. They aim to promote awareness about our native wildlife and what we can all do to help preserve and protect species. They have held talks on flying foxes, quolls, turtles, butterflies and more! Stay tuned through our newsletter and social media to find out about the next event.
